We were only planning to spend a couple of hours there but ended up staying most of the day. Fun day!

Niagra Falls
Today, Wednesday, we took a drive up the gorge below the falls to Whirl Pool State Park and also saw the power plant on the Niagra River. We learned that only around 50% of the water comes over the falls in the tourist season. The other 50 goes to the power plants in underground pipes in both the U.S. and Canada. At night and in the winter, only 25% goes over the falls. Never seen that much water in one place--ever (other than the ocean).
If you look close at the above picture, you can see a couple of people sitting on the rocks. It gives some perspective on how huge the river is that spills into Lake Ontario.
In the afternoon, we took the Maid of the Mist boat ride that takes you out to the face of the falls. It was hot today but windy and we got SOAKED and it felt good!
Tomorrow, we will be off toward the Aderondack Mountains. We may stay in a couple of state parks so may be without signals for a couple of days. We plan to arrive in Bar Harbor Maine on Monday. Can't wait to see what the next leg of our journey will bring.
Hugs to all.

So glad that your having a wonderful time. We really enjoy the trip with you. Love and hugs
